James Joseph Valiyakulathil is an award-winning filmmaker originally from Kerala, India, with a background in film editing (FTII, Pune) and an MFA in Film Production (Ohio University). Having edited acclaimed works including Dekh Indian Circus (Busan winner) and Cecilia (IDFA premiere), James brings a profound and global perspective to cinema.

His own films (Man in the Orange Jacket, Last Day, Janet) explore themes of loneliness, aging, and social justice. He is known for his slow cinema and neo-realist style.

Now based in Canada, James continues to champion human stories that offer reflection, compassion, and hope
